The Workplace Learning Services (WLS) Unit operates on a
state-wide basis, providing customised, flexible and
collaborative training and assessment solutions for a wide
range of Tasmanian enterprises. We aim to improve the work
performance of your employees, support your workforce
development strategies and assist you to achieve your
business and compliance goals.
All our training and
assessment activities are conducted in the workplace. To
ensure maximum efficiency, we tailor our services to match
your specific enterprise requirements and production cycles.
Training Packages are used to achieve formal nationally
recognised outcomes but the training and assessment process
always starts from the jobs of your employees. Work
processes and operations are analysed and standard operating
procedures are either developed, or existing procedures are
used to support a training and assessment framework.
Our aim is to integrate training and assessment into the
regular work cycles of your enterprise in order to avoid
interruption to your production. This means we very quickly
become familiar with, and work efficiently around, complex
shift patterns, rosters, production cycles and compliance
regulations.
The WLS Unit uses a collaborative team
approach to assessment and training, with technical
expertise provided by employees of your enterprise. The WLS
Unit has developed detailed procedures to be used by the
assessment and training team. These ensure:
- things happen the way you want them to
- your employees clearly know what their involvement is and how the process works
- relevant evidence of competent workplace performance is efficiently collected
- the process is quality-assured and compliant with national standards i.e. the Australian Quality Training Framework 2007
In addition to
assisting your employees to achieve qualifications or skill
sets from Training Packages relevant to your industry
sector, we can also work with you to review, develop,
implement and evaluate:
- Training and assessment systems
- Safety Management systems
- Competency based position descriptions
- Procedural development Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Work Instructions
- Induction processes and resources
